"Mercedes and Frasquita looking as if coming straight from the Atelier Lyrique de l'Opéra de Paris, as their mastership of french diction would suggest. Authentic renditions of real "rôles de caractère", with all the vocal and acting vitality they require! What a singing lesson in the "trio of the cards", what a sublime and subtle phrase. It will remain long in my memory.
